Web Design for Famous Food Brands

The main website for Hormel is home to more than 20 individual brands, each with its own products, visual identity, history, and flavor. In addition, the combined brands have more than 1,000 recipes–each featuring one or more products.

Our challenge was to create a layered navigation system that enabled users to easily move between the brands, their products, and the recipes. We had to balance the needs and directives of the parent organization while at the same time celebrating the branding and visual identity of each brand.

In addition to improving site navigation, we increased SEO performance, added product reviews with Power Reviews, and added a “where to buy” feature.
